In my case, I do have bit Office and I do work with complex Excel workbook. Like Doug, I suspect that what you had installed before, which worked with Mendeley, was Office bit, which is what Microsoft recommends for most users, even those with bit Windows. Mendeley was recently acquired by Elsevier and something got messed up. I installed the university Office which worked with Mendeley before but, now, for some reason, it no longer works. I then had to re-install everything before anyone says you should have had restore points, I had 6 and none of them worked. The Microsoft build at the end of January crashed my computer. Note: I do not work for Microsoft, but I do have a suite of add-ins for use with Word and I am quite happy to accept that it is my responsibility to ensure that those add-ins work with Word. There is no way that Microsoft can be held accountable for issues with such products. It is the responsibility of third party application developers such as Elsevier and Mendeley to ensure that their products are compatible with Office. Microsoft do not recommend the use of bit Office unless you are running very large, very complex Excel Workbooks.
